How does it work?
With our app it’s quick and easy. Imagine for a moment travelling from Birmingham to Leeds:

  • A return ticket costs ÂŁ75.50*.

  • With TrainSplit you can buy a train ticket from Birmingham to Derby, another from Derby to Sheffield and finally one from Sheffield to Leeds, all for just ÂŁ49.30.

  • A remarkable saving of ÂŁ25.80!

  • What do I need to do?

    • Using TrainSplit is as speedy and simple as using any other train booking system.

    • Simply enter your journey plan and TrainSplit does the rest.

    • Our powerful search engine will find you the cheapest options available ready for you to make your booking.

    • Eligible for a National Railcard? Get your own inside the app in less than 2 minutes to benefit from even more savings on your travel. What's more is that we can automatically renew it for you. That's one less thing to worry about.

Will I have to get on and off the train?

    • Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the journey. Though you’ll have multiple tickets, you can stay onboard

    • If you have reserved seats, you may need to swap to another seat during your journey, unless you use our Seat Selector to reserve the same seat(s) throughout

Split Ticketing is approved under the National Rail conditions of carriage. For more information visit: https://trainsplit.com

*All fares quoted are Off-Peak (returning the same day) and accurate as of July 2023. Saving at peak times can be even greater.

Beautiful booking experience. No ads, huge amounts of transparency on the costing of tickets, savings, and the amount of the savings that Trainsplit claim, beautiful seat map selection, easy access to support and opportunities to provide feedback, easy payment, easy access to tickets and itinerary.... And I saved ÂŁ20 on a normally ÂŁ65 journey. So grateful to not have to use trainline again.

After some time, I got used to the interface in buying tickets. Would prefer if the option to filter trains can be done with lesser tap, and if I can see more trains for my selection (best is ifnit just shows until the end of the day, and I don't have to keep tapping "see later trains"). Would prefer if it can buy overseas train tickets too (but I understand that might not be the intention of this app).

much better than most ticketing apps, has many useful features like disabling NFC on the ticket page, and shows you exactly what type of train it is and the carriages, the only improvement I could have would be telling you what zone to stand on the platform for your carriage. but otherwise my new favourite ticketing app, especially since it's usually cheaper than others due to the split ticketing

Unfortunately, train operators don't release this information publicly and instead keep it to themselves, otherwise we'd love to show this to you! We're glad you like the app, though.

    What’s new

🗺️ Our journey maps are now more accurate, taking additional enroute locations into account.

⚠️ We've improved handling of some search errors.

🏛️ You can archive upcoming journeys, allowing you to hide Open Returns which you've already used but which haven't expired yet.

✂️ We've reduced the amount of unhelpful journey suggestions which don't present any benefits to you, so search results should be easier to interpret.
