About this game

Trail of Gods: The Cursed Island is a short, brutal action RPG told in pure 1-bit pixels. It lures you in with its stark beauty, then breaks you with its weight.

This is no endless grind. No filler. Every fight matters. Every item has meaning. Every death leaves a mark.

🔥 Features

1-bit style, 180x320 — harsh, hypnotic pixel art designed to burn into memory.

Weapons & armor change everything — speed, damage, charisma, even how NPCs treat you.

Enemies drop what they wore — kill, scavenge, adapt.

Bonfires & relics — fragile moments of safety in a world that wants you gone.

Replayable, compact design — finish in 1–2 hours, or master speedruns in 10–15 minutes.

🕱 The curse
The island is alive. It shifts with time. NPCs don’t repeat scripts — they act. Wind and chance alter your path. Nothing stays the same, not even you.

You will die. You will return. And with each cycle, the island reveals its secrets — until you find the one who built it.

🎮 For players who want:

The challenge of Dark Souls, compressed into minutes.

The surreal strangeness of Minit and The Eternal Castle.

A world that feels alive, dangerous, and personal.

This is not comfort. This is not safe.
This is Trail of Gods.

I really enjoy the game, once you get the hang of the controls, it's actually very intuitive in my opinion. One problem though — Idk if it's because I have my speed so high or what, but suddenly when I start dodging I get caught rolling back and forth, unable to stop. Otherwise its an amazing and original game, a horror action rpg reduced to its base elements and elevated in some way. [Edit: reducing it to 2 stars because I can't progress with this glitch. Every single time I dodge, I get stuck]

This game is really great but unfortunately one of it's biggest strengths is also it's biggest weakness. The 1-bit style is really interesting and gives it a super minimalist look that looks amazing in cutscenes and leaves a lot to the players imagination but also leads to a very frustrating experience where a black floor looks identical to a black hole in the ground that instantly kills you. The mechanics are fun and intuitive and challenging but I just couldn't tell what was what.

Well, I knew the game thanks to an add, looked retro and horror type so decided to give it a try, paid for it, and looks promising. Still not finished but by the looks it was worth the payment, I highly recommend to everyone specially for supporting old school games, wishing you the best on the development and the project and the game development career! ;)
